An official OIF Script-to-Screen Challenge.

OIF JOLT Challenge – 2022

Jolt – a feeling of shock and surprise.
Be creative with your ideas!  Bring something totally new to the screen.  Surprise everyone. Aim to be part of the  most exciting screening!

Final film may be up to nine (9) minutes long, including titles and credits.

Horror – We want to feel chills and see people jump out of their seats.  Horror brings out our fears and innermost instincts.  These strong emotions are perfect for a film’s goal to evoke reaction.

Sci-Fi – Fiction deals principally with the impact of actual or imagined science on society or individuals. Write imaginative and futuristic concepts such as advanced science and technology, space exploration, time travel, parallel universes, extraterrestrial life, etc.

Mystery – Murder mystery? Suspense? Detective Stories? Sleuth? Whodunit? The case of….?  Provoke our minds and make us guess the outcome, but oh no! The twist! The unexpected ending!  Mystery requires you to weave a story with intricacies that entertain and enthrall us.

PLEASE NOTE:
Filming cannot start prior to July 1st where the script selection is scheduled be announced. (Any prior filming will disqualify the entry) We all start at the same time.

We are looking for PG-13, No Nudity – shorts for General Audiences.
We bring lots of people to view your short films, and they are of all ages. In order to give them an enjoyable night, we are going to be a bit more selective with the scripts. If your script contains too much gore, too much violence, too much profanity… it may not be selected or screened.
